White GodStarringZsófia Psotta, Sándor Zsótér, Lili Horváth, 225 dogs

Directed byKornél Mundruczó

Written byKornél Mundruczó, Viktória PetrányiKata Wéber

Year: 2014

Plot: Twelve-year-old Lili is forced to move in with her father. Lili’s dog Hagen is not welcomed though, and ends up abandoned on the vicious streets of Budapest. And that’s how the underdog revolution gets started. When Lili and Hagen meet again, it’s not necessarily a happy reunion.

Pros: Intriguing and not going for simple plot solutions.

Cons: Overall anticlimactic, although it’s hard to put your finger on what exactly went wrong.
