Plot: A psychiatrists leaves his promising and lucrative academic career to take a post at an underfunded institution for mentally ill, where his father, a renowned children’s book author, was once treated. Wounds from the past are healed and doe-eyed arbologists are kissed.
Pros: Eckhart and Murphy are cute like a puppy with a monkey on a string. McKellen is, as always, superb. Lange makes a great alcoholic mum.
Pros: Cloyingly sweet and not particularly logical.
