Directed by: Nicolas Winding Refn
Plot: Family vendetta, set in the underworld city of Bangkok shrouded in permanent darkness lit by vintage neon signs, playing itself out in slow motion. Blades and karaoke, elaborate violence delivered with exquisite blades, incest hanging in the air.
Pros: Oneiric and atmospheric.
Cons: Gross overuse of pregnant pauses and slow motion; an hour an a half to prove that the title sums it all.
